Major Michael Caruso
Major Michael Caruso joined the Metropolitan Police Department as a Police Officer on December 20, 1976. He was assigned to the Third District until October of 1987, when he was assigned as a Detective in the Vice/Narcotics Division. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in December of 1988. As a Sergeant, he served in the Ninth District, and Internal Affairs.
Major Caruso was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in August of 1993. He served in the Third District, Quality Control Unit, Special Services Division, and South Patrol Detectives.
In February of 2007, Major Caruso was promoted to the rank of Captain. He served as the Commander of the Ninth District and the Deputy Commander of the Bureau of Community Policing.
In January 2013, Major Caruso was promoted to the rank of Major and assigned as the Commander of the Central Patrol Division.
From October 2015 through November 2016, Major Caruso served as the Division Commander at the Airport. He currently serves as the Deputy Commander of the Bureau of Operations.
Major Caruso holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Lindenwood University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Tarkio College. Major Caruso is the second in a line of three generations of St. Louis Metropolitan Police Officers.
