18-year-old Grazed in Penrose Shooting

District 6 is investigating a shooting wherein an 18-year-old female was grazed by gunfire while on a Metro bus around 12:45 a.m. on October 30 at North Kingshighway & Natural Bridge.

The 18-year-old female was uncooperative with the investigation. However, preliminary information that was able to be gathered revealed a male suspect who is known to the 18-year-old female was causing a disturbance on the bus. The suspect was then asked by the bus driver to exit the bus at N. Kingshighway & Natural Bridge.

Once the suspect exited the bus, he pulled out a gun and shot at the bus driver through the driver’s window. The bullet ended up missing the bus driver and grazing the 18-year-old female in the chest.

The suspect fled on foot after the incident. The 18-year-old female was transported to the hospital where she was listed in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing.
