On April 27, District 4 officers responded to a shooting at 901 Chouteau just before 9 p.m.
Officers located a 39-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The 39-year-old man told officers he was at Spruce and South 4th Street, stopped at a red light. Suddenly, a black SUV occupied by a man and woman, pulled up next to him and the man fired multiple shots at him. The 39-year-old man then drove to the above location and asked security to call the police.
EMS responded and transported the 39-year-old to a nearby hospital where he was listed in critical but stable condition.
Officers responded to Spruce and South 4th Street. Surveillance video showed a black Chevy Equinox firing shots at the 39-year-old.
Moments later, SWAT officers located that black Chevy Equinox at Natural Bridge and Kingshighway. They stopped the SUV, and a 34-year-old man was taken into custody. A gun and ballistic evidence were recovered in the Equinox. Charges are being applied for.
This investigation remains ongoing.
