District 5 detectives are investigating a report of a man who was robbery and assaulted around 11:45 p.m. on June 25 in the 4300 block of West Belle.
Around 3 a.m. on June 26., officers received call regarding a shooting victim that responded to a St. Louis County hospital with a gunshot wound to his back. The man reported that at 11:45 p.m., he was delivering food in the 4300 block of West Belle when he approached by a group of approximately seven armed young males and a female. The man told officers that he was assaulted by the males and they took his car keys during the incident. The suspects then fled in the victim’s car. EMS responded but the victim initially declined transport to the hospital believing he was only bruised. The victim later responded to the hospital where it was discovered he had sustained a gunshot wound and was listed in stable condition.
While on patrol, 6th District officers spotted the victim’s car and attempted to pull it over at 20th & Linton. The car pulled into a driveway where the occupants then fled from the car. Officers were able to apprehend a juvenile male and an 18-year-old male. Others made good their escape.Â
The investigation remains ongoing.
