Man Robbed, Assaulted in Dutchtown

District 1 detectives are investigating a robbery wherein a man was pistol-whipped on July 15 in the Dutchtown neighborhood.

The man, 54, contacted police on July 15 and reported that he was getting ready to lay down around 10 p.m. on July 14 at the parking lot of the CVS located at Gravois & Chippewa when he was approached by an unknown male. The victim said the suspect pointed a firearm at him and demanded his money. The victim said he gave the suspect his wallet and pulled out his pockets to show he had no more. At that time, the victim said the suspect became enraged due to the lack of additional money and proceeded to strike him with the firearm. The suspect then took the victim’s bookbag and fled.

The victim walked to a nearby gas station to contact police. The victim sustained lacerations to his head however refused medical attention. Any available surveillance that may have captured the incident was unavailable at the time of the report. The investigation is ongoing.
