District 3 officers responded to a Shooting in the 2900 block of California around 7:40 p.m. on August 3.
A 42-year-old woman told officers she was working on a vehicle that was parked on the street when she heard gunfire coming from the south and was shot in the leg.
The woman’s husband was also working on the vehicle and told officers he observed a black male in a brown shirt firing a gun near the intersection of California and Crittenden. The husband was not injured.
EMS transported the woman to an area hospital where she was listed in stable condition.
Multiple shell casings were located near the intersection of California and Crittenden.
The investigation is ongoing.
