District 2 is investigating a business robbery that occurred on August 5 in the Tower Grove South neighborhood.
Shortly after 4:50 p.m., officers were called to the Cheap TRX store in the 3200 block of S. Grand for a robbery report. Upon arrival, officers learned that a male suspect had entered the store around 4:45 p.m. and lingered around before taking items from a shelf and leaving the store. An employee followed the suspect out of the store and confronted the suspect. At that point, the suspect indicated having a firearm in his pocket and threatened to shoot the employee; however, no firearm was displayed. The suspect fled on foot after the incident.
A description of the suspect was broadcast to officers, and he was located by officers at South Grand & Cherokee. The suspect, a 31-year-old man, was taken into custody. No injuries were reported during the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
