District 5 is investigating a shooting that left a man injured on August 11, possibly in The Ville neighborhood.
Around 8:20 p.m., officers received a call for a shooting victim that was dropped off at a local hospital. Upon arriving, officers located a 23-year-old male that was shot in the chest. Preliminary investigation revealed the victim was likely shot in the area of the 4900 block of Maffitt where officers had received ShotSpotter calls shortly before 8 p.m. and located ballistic evidence.
