District 5 is investigating a shooting that left a 63-year-old man injured on August 16 in the West End neighborhood.
Around 6:20 a.m., officers received a shooting call at a residence in the 5800 block of Cates. Upon arriving, they were advised the victim had been privately conveyed to the hospital suffering from gunshot wounds.
Officers responded to the hospital and spoke to the victim who stated he went outside his residence around 6 a.m. to check on his car alarm when he was shot. It is unknown where the shots came from or who was shooting.
