District 6 is investigating a robbery and assault of a 58-year-old woman on September 15 in Walnut Park East.
The 58-year-old woman told officers that around 8:30 p.m., she was sitting on her porch in the 5500 block of W. Florissant when a male and female suspect approached from her gangway. The woman said the two suspects asked her for money. When she advised she did not have any money, both suspects reportedly assaulted the 58-year-old woman with their fists. During the assault, the male suspect repeatedly struck the woman with a brick causing a laceration to her arm and numerous bruises.
The suspects eventually took money from the 58-year-old woman and then fled from the scene on foot. EMS responded and transported her to the hospital for treatment. The investigation is ongoing.
