On September 11, 2025, around 8:30 a.m., District 5 officers responded to a call in the 5600 block of Labadie Avenue regarding possible human remains located by City crews doing work on a vacant lot.
Officers arrived on scene and requested the Medical Examiner’s Office to respond, at which time, confirmed the remains to be human.
The Homicide Division was requested along with the St. Louis Fire Department’s Cadaver canine to assist with the investigation.
Homicide detectives will lead the investigation and work closely with the Medical Examiner’s Office to determine who the individual is and how they died.
