Major Latricia Allen

Commander – Investigative Services

Major Latricia Allen has served the City of St. Louis and the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department for more than 35 years. She grew up in the Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhood and served in the United States Army before joining this Department. Her service in both the military and as a law enforcement professional has engrained an understanding of the community and fuels her desire to protect and serve.

Throughout her career, Major Allen has worked in and supervised a variety of units, including the Intelligence Division, Housing Authority Unit, Sex Crimes, Child Abuse, & DART, as well as Community Engagement & Organizational Development. With her most recent promotion to Major in 2024, Major Allen is now commanding the Bureau of Investigative Services. With her background, she is innately aware of the challenges that come with investigating the most heinous crimes. All of which deserve the utmost dedication and perseverance.

Major Allen has uninterruptedly displayed a dedication to public service during her time with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. This commitment provides her with an understanding that citizens not only need protection and enforcement, but also dialogue and engagement. Major Allen believes this is how we will build a trusting and meaningful relationship that can successfully fight crime, evil, and injustice.
