Arrests Made After Robbery in Central West End

District 5 is investigating a robbery that happened around 2 a.m. on January 23 in the 3900 block of West Pine.

A 30-year-old woman, 26-year-old woman, and a 25-year-old male told officers they had just arrived at their residences when they were approached by two males armed with handguns. The victims said the suspects demanded their property, to which they complied and relinquished their property to the suspects. The suspects then entered a blue SUV and fled from the scene after the robbery.

Prior to the completion of this report, one of the victims pinged their phone at which time the Real Time Crime Center was able to locate the suspects’ car in the area of Chouteau and South Broadway. 4th District officers initiated a pursuit of the suspect vehicle after it fled from the officers during an attempt traffic stop.

The pursuit ended after the suspect’s car collided with a deer on the off ramp of McCausland Avenue and I-64 prompting an Officer in Need of Aid call. The suspect vehicle continued onto the 6300 block of Clayton Road but stopped in a grassy area where the vehicle then caught fire.1 Two suspects, a 24-year-old male and a 23-year-old male, bailed from the suspect car but were taken into custody after a foot pursuit, with the assistance of Clayton Police officers.2

An SLMPD3 officer sustained a hand injury from falling during the foot pursuit. The officer was treated at the scene by EMS.

The investigation remains ongoing.
