The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the use of deadly force by St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department detectives after shots were fired after a pursuit.
Around 7am on May 23, 2024, Anti Crime Task Force detectives attempted to stop a stolen truck at Broadway and Schirmer.
The truck was driving dangerously and failed to stop for our detectives, even after spike strips were deployed. The truck continued driving recklessly while evading police.
Shots were fired multiple times at our detectives from the truck during the pursuit. The chase ended in the 1100 block of Westward Trails in Imperial where the suspect exited the truck armed with a gun and our detectives shot and killed the suspect.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office will investigate the incident.
