Homicide Detectives are investigating after a shooting inside Fairground Park left four people injured and one dead on April 13, 2025.
At approximately 11:40 p.m., officers received a call for a shooting at the park near Vandeventer Avenue. Upon arriving, they located a 23-year-old man and a 24-year-old man both suffering from gunshot wounds at the park. EMS responded and transported the men to the hospital where the 23-year-old was listed in critical but stable condition and the 24-year-old was listed as same.
While on scene, officers were advised that three additional victims, a 21-year-old man, a 35-year-old woman and a 23-year-old woman, were privately conveyed to the hospital. The 21-year-old man, who has been identified as Maurice Roberts-Parnell of the 2600 block of Belair Terrace, Florissant, MO sustained gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The 35-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound and was listed in serious but stable condition. The 23-year-old woman sustained a graze wound and was listed in stable condition.
A preliminary investigation revealed a large gathering was taking place at the park when gunfire erupted. Detectives are still working to determine the full circumstances of what led up to the shooting.
