Homicide Detectives are taking the lead in a death investigation on May 4, 2025 in the 4100 block of S. Grand Blvd.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., officers received a call for a shooting at a residence at the location. Upon arriving, they located a 48-year-old woman inside the home suffering from a gunshot wound.
EMS responded and pronounced the woman dead at the scene. She has been identified as 48-year-old Lachonda Valentine. At this time, the incident is being handled as a death investigation pending the cause of death results from The Medical Examiner’s Office. The investigation remains ongoing.
