District 5 officers responded to a Carjacking in the 5900 block of Plymouth shortly before 8:30 p.m. on October 12.
A 37-year-old man, who drives for a ride-share service, told officers he picked up 2 males, possibly in their teens, that he believed were his fare.
One of the males placed what the 37-year-old man thought was a gun to the back of his head and ordered him out of the car.
Both males drove off in the 37-year-old man’s 2016 white Nissan Altima.
About two ours later, District 6 officers spotted the Nissan near Lillian and Goodfellow. They attempted to pull the Nissan over when it fled from officers at high speed.
A pursuit went into St. Louis County and ended in the 6600 block of Boles where 4 people ran from the Nissan.
A 17-year-old juvenile was taken into custody and found in possession of a Glock pistol with an auto sear attached, potentially allowing the gun to fire fully automatic.
The juvenile was taken to the St. Louis County Juvenile Detention where he was held.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the North Patrol Division at 314-444-0001 for a District 5 detective. Anyone who wants to remain anonymous and/or interested in a possible reward can call CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477).
