District 3 officers responded to multiple calls for Shots Fired and then a Shooting in the 800 block of Russell around 10:00 p.m. on November 16.
Officers located a 17-year-old male juvenile who had been shot in the chest. Officers rendered first aid until EMS arrived.
EMS transported the juvenile to an area hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
Initial investigation indicates that a large party was taking place at a short-term rental property when the shooting occurred. Numerous juveniles were still on scene during the initial investigation; however, many were uncooperative and officers were provided with very little information.
A large number of shell casings were recovered from the scene, both inside of and outside of the residence.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Central Patrol Division at 314-444-2500 for a District 3 detective. Anyone who wants to remain anonymous and/or is interested in a possible reward can call CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477).
