Juveniles Taken Into Custody After Carjacking/Pursuit

Edited: an earlier version incorrectly identified one of the juveniles as an 11-year-old. The correct age is 13 years old.

District 4 officers responded to a Carjacking in the 1100 block of N. 20th around 12:00 a.m. on October 20.

A 30-year-old man was delivering for a food service when he was robbed of his white 2012 Cadillac CTS by 2 males, one who was armed with a rifle.

About an hour later, around 1:00 a.m., District 6 officers saw the Cadillac on Riverview near W. Florissant and began to pursue the Cadillac after it refused to stop when officers tried to pull it over.

Officers were able to deploy spike strips which slowly deflated multiple tires of the Cadillac.

Near O’Fallon park, 3 15-year-old males and 1 13-year-old male ran from the Cadillac. All 4 juveniles were taken into custody by officers who pursued them on foot.

Inside of the Cadillac was an airsoft rifle and property belonging to the 30-year-old man.

All 4 juveniles were taken to the Juvenile Detention Center where they were held.

The investigation is ongoing.
