UPDATE: Juvenile in custody after 15-year-old killed at gas station

A 17-year-old male was taken into custody on November 12 on an unrelated offense and was being held in juvenile detention. On November 15, Homicide Detectives met with attorneys at the Juvenile Court to apply on charges of Murder First-Degree, Assault First-Degree, Armed Criminal Action, Tampering First-Degree, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

The deceased male has been identified as 15-year-old Jamar Hamilton of Glasgow Village, St. Louis County MO.

Homicide detectives are investigating a shooting that left a male dead on November 12 in Baden.

Shortly before 1:40 a.m., officers were called to the Speedy Gas Station in the 8800 block of N. Broadway for a shooting. Upon arriving, they located a male, believed to be in his late teens or a young adult, on the ground with gunshot wounds. EMS responded and pronounced him deceased at the scene.

A preliminary investigation suggests the victim was with a group of unidentified people when they exchanged gunfire with the occupants of another vehicle. An investigation into what led to the incident remains underway.
