District 5 officers responded to a Hold Up in the 5100 block of Vernon around 9:45 p.m. on July 19.
A 55-yera-old woman told officers she was standing outside her residence when she was approached by a younger black male and black female, both appeared to be in their teens.
The male produced a gun and announced a robbery. The woman gave the teen her cell phone and he demanded money.
The woman’s 54-year-old husband came outside and the teen fired a shot in the air. The man gave the teen cash and the teen returned the woman’s cell phone.
Both teens ran from the area. The investigation is ongoing.
