A 26-year-old man is in police custody after a shooting at 15th and Market left a man hospitalized.
On December 28, 2024 around 6:32 am, police received a call for a shooting at 15th and Market. After arriving, police located an adult male with a gunshot wound to his leg. The man was rushed to the hospital by ambulance where he was listed in critical, but stable condition.
A preliminary investigation showed that the shooting happened in a makeshift camp located at 15th and Market.
Using the Real Time Crime Center and cameras in the area, officers were directed to the Greyhound bus station where the suspect was taken into custody. A stolen handgun was also recovered.
Charges are being filed with the Circuit Attorney’s Office; however, the investigation remains ongoing.
