A man was carjacked at gunpoint while trying to meet someone from a dating site.
On December 28th, 2024, District 5 officers received a call for a Hold-Up in the 5400 block of Ridge at approximately 5:45 pm.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the 21-year-old caller stated he was trying to meet someone he had been chatting with on a dating site, when an unknown male pulled out a handgun, demanded his car keys and told him to empty his pockets.
The unknown male then gathered the items, entered the caller’s vehicle and took off.
District 5 detectives are investigating.
