Update on August 29: Investigators have identified the deceased as 47-year-old Jerome Huntley of the 5000 block of Cote Brillante.
Original post on August 28: Homicide detectives are investigating after a man was found burned with possible other unconfirmed injuries on August 27 in the Walnut Park East neighborhood.
Just after 10:00 p.m., officers responded to a call for shots fired followed by a call for a supposed sudden death from Fire Alarm in the 4900 block of Plover. Officers arrived and located an unidentified man in the alley of the 4900 block of Thrush. The man had been set on fire and extinguished by fire officials prior to police arrival. EMS pronounced the man dead at the scene. The Medical Examiner will determine the official cause of death.
