UPDATE: The deceased man has been identified as 42-year-old Hasan Muhammad of the 4300 block of Chippewa.
Homicide Detectives are investigating after a man was found shot inside a vehicle on April 15, 2025 in the 5000 block of Vernon Avenue.
Shortly after 11:15 p.m., officers received a call for an “accident with injuries” at the location. Upon arriving, they located a crashed Toyota that had struck two other parked cars. Officers observed the Toyota and discovered an adult male victim inside that had been shot in the back.
EMS responded and transported the man to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. An investigation into the circumstances of the shooting remains underway.
