District 5 is investigating a robbery that happened shortly before 8:15 p.m. on February 25 in the 6100 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Dr.
A 61-year-old man told officers he was at the location conversing with a separate group of people when two known male suspects approached him. The 61-year-old man said one of the suspects put a sharp object to his throat and took his wallet, phone and money. A struggle ensued, and the suspect dropped the wallet in the process then instructed the second suspect to take the wallet. The second suspect picked up the wallet before both suspects fled from the scene.
The victim sustained a minor injury to his finger during the incident and was treated at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
