District 1 is investigating a robbery that occurred on August 8 in the Carondelet neighborhood.
Shortly before 6 p.m., officers were called to the 6400 block of Michigan. Upon arriving, they located a 22-year-old man who reported he was robbed. The man told officers he was a locksmith and had received a call to the location. Once arriving around 5:50 p.m., the victim said he was met by a male suspect who walked him to the alley. At that point, the victim said a second male suspect emerged and pointed a firearm at him while announcing a robbery. The first suspect then went through the victim’s pockets and took property. After the robbery, the second suspect told the victim to run as the suspects walked away from the scene.
The victims cell phone was recovered in the rear of the 6400 block of Virginia. The victim was not injured during the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
