District 2 is investigating a robbery that occurred at 5:40 a.m. on September 17 in the Cheltenham neighborhood.
A 30-year-old man told officers he was sitting in his car in the parking lot of the American Pulverizer Company waiting for work when a sedan approached and parked next to him. The man said he then felt his car shake and noticed two unknown subjects attempting to open the rear car doors. The man said the unknown subjects then opened his front doors, pointed pistols at him, and announced a robbery.
The suspects took the man’s cellphone and various paperwork before fleeing the scene in the sedan they arrived in. The man was not injured during the incident.
