District 3 is investigating a business robbery that occurred on August 21 in the Lafayette Square neighborhood.
Around 8:15 a.m., officers were called to the Walgreens located at 1530 Lafayette. A preliminary investigation revealed that around 8 a.m., a male suspect entered the business and began placing various store items into a bag. When confronted by a worker and a security officer, the suspect produced a pocketknife and flourished them. The suspect then fled from the scene on a silver bike.
A foot pursuit of the suspect was initiated by officers; however, the suspect was able to escape. Anyone with a tip about this incident who wants to remain anonymous and is interested in a possible reward for their tip can contact CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477).
