District 1 is investigating a business robbery that occurred at Conoco Gas Station (4355 S. Broadway) on September 15.
A preliminary investigation revealed that around 3:35 p.m., an unknown male suspect entered the business and asked to purchase cigarettes. During the transaction, the suspect pulled out a handgun, demanded money from a cash register, then fired a gunshot. The man took the pack of cigarettes from the counter and fled without any money.
No injuries were reported from this incident. The investigation is ongoing.
