On February 2, District 5 officers responded to a shooting in the 4400 block of Forest Park, around 11 a.m.
Officers found a 35-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The 35-year-old man told officers he was attempting to force the door of the above location open to retrieve his friend’s belongings, when he was shot by the resident inside.
Officers located a 62-year-old inside the residence, who admitted to shooting the 35-year-old and admitted to being a convicted felon.
EMS responded and transported the 35-year-old man to the hospital where he was listed in stable condition. Officers are working with the Circuit Attorney’s Office to issue charges.
