District 5 is investigating a shooting that left a man injured on June 9, 2025 in the Central West End.
Shortly after 3:15 a.m., officers received a call for a shooting in the area of the 10 block of S. Taylor Avenue. Upon arriving, they located a 33-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. EMS responded and transported the man to the hospital where he was listed in critical but stable condition.
The 33-year-old man was unable to provide a statement due to his condition. However, a preliminary investigation suggests the 33-year-old man and an unknown male suspect were involved in an altercation prior to the shooting. The suspect fled after the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing.
