UPDATE: Man Shot in Hyde Park in 2024 Dies

UPDATE: On September 17, 2025, the Medical Examiner’s Office contacted the Homicide Division to advise the victim of this incident died from his injuries on April 17, 2025. An autopsy revealed the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head and spinal area, thus ruling the manner of death as ‘homicide.’ He has been identified as 71-year-old Timothy Anderson of St. Louis City.

A 54-year-old male suspect turned himself in to police on November 12, 2024, five days of the incident. Assault 2nd Degree charges were refused by the Circuit Attorney’s Office at that time.

The Homicide Division has assumed this investigation.

District 4 is investigating a shooting that occurred around 10:15 a.m. on November 7 in the 4100 block of N. 22nd St.

Officers responded to a shooting call at the location and located a 71-year-old adult male1 with a graze wound to his ear and serious injuries to his head. A preliminary investigation was able to determine the 71-year-old was assaulted and shot at by a 53-year-old male suspect. Investigators are still working to determine what led up to the incident, as the 71-year-old was unable to provide a statement, and the 53-year-old suspect fled after the incident.

The 71-year-old man was taken to the hospital is listed in critical but stable condition. The investigation remains ongoing.
