Man Shot in North Riverfront Neighborhood

District 6 is investigating a shooting that left a 27-year-old man injured around 1:50 p.m. in the 6000 block of N. Broadway.

The 27-year-old would not cooperate with police. However, preliminary information of what could be gathered revealed the victim was shot at a Mobile Gas Station parking lot in the 6000 block of N. Broadway. He was then assisted into a car by a citizen who was transporting him to the hospital but ran out of gas enroute. The citizen pulled over on a Family Dollar parking lot at North Kingshighway & Natural Bridge then contacted police.

EMS responded and transported the 27-year-old man to the hospital where he was listed in critical/stable condition from a gunshot wound to his leg. The investigation is ongoing.
