District 6 detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred during the morning of July 1 in the Penrose Neighborhood.
Around 6 a.m., officers received a call from a local hospital after a 30-year-old male showed up with a gunshot wound to his arm. The man advised officers he was outside of a residence near Penrose & Harris Streets when an unknown male pointed a firearm at him. The man further stated that he attempted to take control of the firearm when the suspect fired a shot, striking the man in his arm. Officers investigated at the scene and did not locate any evidence or “ShotSpotter” calls in the area.
