Update: After a review of the case, the Circuit Attorney’s Office elected not to issue charges against the 48-year-old man for this incident.
Homicide Detectives are investigating a shooting that left a 28-year-old man dead on March 27, 2025 in the 5600 block of Pamplin Avenue.
Shortly before 7:15 p.m., officers received a call for a domestic disturbance between a male and a female at a residence at the location. Upon arriving, a 48-year-old man met officers and advised them he had a firearm on him and that he had shot a male inside the residence. The 48-year-old man was detained as officers investigated the scene.
Officers entered the residence and located a 28-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. EMS responded, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation determined the 28-year-old man was involved in an argument with the daughter of the 48-year-old man prior to the shooting. However, an investigation into the full details of what occurred prior to the shooting remains underway.
The 48-year-old man was taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing.
