District 2 is investigating a robbery and assault that occurred during the early morning hours on August 5 in the Forest Park Southeast neighborhood.
Around 1:20 a.m., officers received a call for an assault in the 4500 block of Manchester. A preliminary investigation revealed a 46-year-old man (victim #1) reported he was robbed at gunpoint by two male suspects after leaving a nightclub and coming into contact with the suspects as they were tampering with a car on a parking lot. During the robbery, a second 46-year-old man (victim #2) who was with victim #1 was assaulted by the two suspects. The suspects fled the scene after the incident. Victim #2 said he was not injured and declined medical attention at the scene.
While on scene investigating, a third victim, a 45-year-old man, approached officers and reported that his car had been tampered with and a window shattered. The vehicle was rummaged through but did not appear to have anything taken from it.
