Homicide detectives have identified the deceased victim as 26-year-old D’angelo Caldwell of the 4700 block of Highland.

District 4 officers responded to a Shooting near N. Vandeventer and Maffitt around 3:45 p.m. on August 3.
An unidentified male, possibly in his late teens or early twenties, was found on the sidewalk suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was not conscious and not breathing.
EMS responded and pronounced the male dead at the scene.
Ballistic evidence as well as a firearm were recovered from the scene.
