On March 8, 2025, at approximately 3:50PM, District Three officers responded to the 2800 block of Potomac St. for a Hold-Up. When officers arrived, they were met by a 21-year-old woman who stated she had just been robbed.
A preliminary investigation revealed the woman had just exited her vehicle when she was approached by a boy who appeared to be between 16-20 years old. The boy asked the 21-year-old if he could use her phone to call his dad. The victim agreed and began typing the number into her phone, when the boy suddenly grabbed her by the sweatshirt and threw her onto the ground, demanding her belongings. As the victim tried handing over her belongings, the suspect pulled out a black gun and placed it to the back of her head, again demanding her belongings.
The victim handed over her phone and car keys, which the suspect grabbed and took off. The suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and the victim ran away.
As the police searched the area, they located the victim’s vehicle a short distance away with the parking brake activated. The victim advised she never activates the parking brake. Her keys were recovered in the middle of the street.
