Teen Struck by Bullet in Walnut Park West

District 6 is investigating a shooting that left a 14-year-old male injured on January 1 in the 5500 block of Goodfellow.

A preliminary investigation revealed the teen was with an adult relative at approximately 12 a.m. when they just arrived at their residence. Upon walking onto their porch, the teen felt pain to his face. The teen’s relative observed an injury and took the teen to the hospital.

Once at the hospital in treatment, it was revealed the teen was struck by a bullet that hit his nose. It is believed the teen was struck by a stray bullet from gunfire that was taking place in the proximity of their residence.

The teen was listed in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing.
