Two Dead, Three Injured in Carr Square Shooting

Just before 11pm, District 4 officers received a call for a shooting in the 1500 block of Preservation Pl.

As officers arrived, they were notified of 4 males that had been shot in the blocks surrounding 15th and Preservation. All were transported to area hospitals where a 27-year-old male died from his injuries.

A 43-year-old man, 41-year-old man, and a 26-year-old man all suffered non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to survive.

Metro Air Support responded to the area and observed a vehicle fleeing the scene of the shooting at a high rate of speed and notified SWAT officers that were in the area.

SWAT officers attempted to pull the vehicle over, however, it refused to pull over. The vehicle was eventually spiked and later came to a stop on the McKinley Bridge.

Two males were detained, and a 21-year-old female was located in the backseat suffering a fatal gunshot wound. She died inside the vehicle.

Homicide detectives responded and are handling the investigation.

A preliminary investigation suggests that a large fight in the 1500 block of Preservation Pl. led to shots being fired between two groups.
