District 4 is investigating a shooting that happened around 5:25 p.m. on December 12 in the 200 block of Cass.
Shortly after 5:45 p.m., officers responded to a shooting call at the Horseshoe Casino after two men, 40 and 30, showed up to the casino suffering from gunshot wounds. A second uninjured man, 24, was located inside the casino. A fourth person, a 26-year-old woman, arrived at the parking lot in a vehicle that sustained ballistic damage. She was not injured.
A preliminary investigation revealed the three men and woman were involved in the attempted purchase of narcotics in the 200 block of Cass with an unconfirmed number of suspects. During the transaction, the men and woman said the suspects produced firearms and began shooting at them.
EMS responded and transported the 40-year-old man and the 30-year-old man to the hospital. They were listed in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing.
