District 4 is investigating a domestic shooting that left a 37-year-old woman and an unrelated 25-year-old woman injured around 9:30 p.m. on October 21 in the 3700 block of Forest Park.
The 37-year-old woman told officers she was at a party at the Element Hotel when she was confronted by her ex-girlfriend, a 38-year-old suspect, and another 25-year-old female suspect who was with the 38-year-old suspect. The 37-year-old woman said she left the party and responded outside the establishment where she was again approached by the suspects and a fight ensued.
During the altercation, the 38-year-old suspect retrieved a firearm from her car and started shooting. Both suspects then fled from the scene after the incident. The 37-year-old woman was struck in her foot by the gunfire. A 25-year-old woman unrelated to the incident was struck in her thigh by the gunfire. The 25-year-old victim said she was delivering food to the hotel when the incident was happening.
EMS responded and transported the 37 and 25-year-old victims to the hospital. The 37-year-old was listed in stable condition and the 25-year-old was listed in critical but stable condition. No other injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
