5 People Injured in Shooting on Washington

An off-duty SLMPD officer was working approved secondary in the 1900 block of Washington when he heard gunfire around 2:30 a.m. on September 1.

The officers observed individuals running toward his location and learned that a total of 5 people had been injured.

A 35-year-old woman had been shot in the leg. A 22-year-old woman, a 33-year-old man, a 27-year-old man, and a 26-year-old man were also injured, possibly by bullet fragments.

The 35-year-old woman, 22-year-old woman, and 26-year-old man were all taken to a hospital by EMS and listed in stable condition. The 33-year-old man and 27-year-old man refused to be taken to a hospital after being treated at the scene by EMS.

The investigation is ongoing.
