On February 4, District 6 officers responded to a Robbery in the 8500 block of Mora Lane, just before 7:30 a.m.
A 52-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man told officers that a known man confronted the woman with knives and a sledgehammer, accusing her of stealing. The man assaulted the woman and took her phone. He also threatened the 41-year-old man if he intervened. The man then sat at the top of the stairs armed with the knives, preventing them from escaping.
The 52-year-old woman and the 41-year-old man were able to escape and get help.
District 6 officers responded to the location and arrested a 53-year-old man who was identified as being responsible for the robbery. The Circuit Attorney’s Office issued charges against the man for Robbery, two counts of Kidnapping, and Armed Criminal Action.
