Man Shot in The Ville

District 5 is investigating a shooting that left a 20-year-old man injured on March 4 in the 4700 block of Leduc.

Around 4:50 p.m., officers received a ShotSpotter call to the location followed by a call for shooting. Upon arriving, they located the 20-year-old man inside the stairwell of an apartment building suffering from a gunshot wound to his ankle.

The 20-year-old man provided conflicting statements but claims he was shot by a known male subject during what he believes was a “set up.” The man did not elaborate further on why he believed that, and officers are still investigating that claim.

EMS responded and transported the man to the hospital where he was listed in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing.
