District 3 is investigating a shooting that left a 43-year-old man injured on August 13 in the Benton Park neighborhood.
At approximately 10 p.m., officers received a call for a shooting at the BP Gas station in the 3200 block of S. Jefferson. Upon arriving, they located the victim lying on the parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim told officers he was at the location when a male suspect, who is known to the victim, pulled up in a black Chevy sedan and shot the victim. It is unknown at this time what led to the shooting.
EMS responded and transported the victim to the hospital where he was listed in critical but stable condition. The investigation is ongoing.
