District 1 is investigating a carjacking that left a man injured on August 23 in the Carondelet neighborhood.
Shortly before 5:30 a.m, officers were called to the area of Pennsylvania & Bellerive. Upon arriving, they located a 31-year-old man suffering from injuries to his face.
The man told officers around 5 a.m., he was at an unknown location when two male suspects entered his car and drove him to the intersection of Pennsylvania & Dover. Once there, the man said the suspects struck him in the face with a liquor bottle and pointed a firearm at him while forcing him out of the car. The man complied but stated he held onto the hood of the car in an attempt to stop the suspects from fleeing. The suspects were able to get away.
