Investigators identified the deceased pedestrian as 37-year-old Bill McClinton of the 9800 block of Green Valley Drive.

On August 26, the Medical Examiner’s Office contacted investigators to advise the victim of this incident was pronounced deceased later in the day on August 24. An update on the victim’s identity will be provided once identification process is completed.

District 5 officers responded to a crash involving a pedestrian at Natural Bridge and Belt around 5:20 a.m. on August 24.
A preliminary investigation indicates that an unidentified man was crossing Natural Bridge, not in a crosswalk, when he was struck by a white Hyundai SUV.
The impact caused the pedestrian to be thrown to the southeast corner of the intersection.
The Hyundai SUV continued westbound on Natural Bridge and left the scene.
The pedestrian was transported by EMS to an area hospital where he was listed in critical/unstable condition.
Accident Reconstruction responded to the scene and is assisting in the ongoing investigation.
