District 6 is investigating a shooting that left a 54-year-old man injured on December 22 in the 4700 block of Lee.
The 54-year-old man told officers he was involved in an argument with his 35-year-old nephew around 7 p.m. During the argument, the nephew had a firearm in his possession. The 54-year-old man said he attempted to get the firearm out of his nephew’s hand, however, the gun ended up discharging and striking the 54-year-old in the hand.
EMS responded and transported the 54-year-old man to the hospital where he was listed in stable condition. The 35-year-old man was taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing.
